John M. Hadden, Sr. was born in 1799 in Pennsylvania. His wife Elizabeth McClelland was also born in Pennsylvania. Their children were:
- Georgiana Hadden ~ never married, buried in Miami Cemetery (Section F)
- Anna Carson Hadden ~ never married, buried in Maimi Cemetery (Section F), the 1860 Federal Census lists Anna as "Idiot".
- Elizabeth Hadden
- John M. Hadden, Jr. ~ born in Indiana
John M. Hadden, Sr. and his wife Elizabeth are also buried in Miami Cemetery (Section F)
Beginning in 1833, he was the postmaster of Waynesville for a number of years. He was a commissioner of The Little Miami Railroad Company starting in 1836. He was one of the incorporators of The Waynesville & Wilmington Pike Turnpike Company, which was built, in 1851-1852 (Beer's History of Warren County, Ohio, pp. 290 and 585). He was also one of the founding trustees of the Waynesville Academy. John M.
